Spectrum Academy has the opportunity to become a professional learning community (a PLC).
Spectrum's teachers are now working together in professional learning community teams. The teams are divided by grade. One elementary team includes teachers and paraprofessionals who teach kindergarten - 2nd grade. The second elementary team includes teachers and paraprofessionals who teach 3rd - 5th grade.
The PLC teams get together on a weekly basis to discuss their team's mission statement and their alignment with that mission, their students' progress, and to engage in professional development. Our teachers and paraprofessionals are wonderful! They are actively involved in collaborating professionally, and in supporting the students at Spectrum Academy Elementary as we work toward our school's mission of teaching all students the social and academic skills they need to succeed in life.
The 2011 - 2012 team leaders are:
Liz Banner - K-2 team
Jandy Stelter - 3-5 team
