Daycare Information

Spectrum Daycare . . . what is it?  How does it work?

Hours:
7:30 a.m. to 8:50 a.m., and 3:45 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
**all children who come to school prior to 8:45 and are not with their parents will be required to go to daycare.  They are not allowed into teacher's rooms (since that is very valuable prep time for our teachers).  If your child is in the hallway before school begins, he or she will be directed to go to daycare.

Cost:
$4/hour
$1 minute for every minute past 5:30 p.m.  (can you tell we want you to be on time? :) )

Things to consider when deciding if Spectrum Daycare is the best choice for your child . . .
  • What we do before school - typically before school students watch cartoons, work on homework, or play quietly.

  • What we do after school - activities and group games, play outside on the playground, coloring, crafts, homework

  • Spectrum Daycare is not set up like our school; it is not set up to provide special services for children who need behavioral interventions.  Our daycare is set up as a convenience for families who do not want to make other daycare arrangements.  It is not staffed by teachers, but by daycare workers.  If your child has meltdowns due to noise, proximity of other children, or unstructured playtime, please be aware that the Spectrum daycare may not be the best place for your child.  It is not set up like our classes and classrooms.  If your child is physically agressive, he or she will not be allowed to return to the daycare.

Things we need donated to make our daycare really cool:
  • snacks, craft items (glue sticks, paper, construction paper, pipe cleaners, googly eyes, etc)
